Smart contract hire customers will be in for a treat if they take a trip to the movies this month to see the The Pink Panther 2.
As Steve Martin takes up the role of the bumbling Inspector Clouseau again in the sequel to the 2006 worldwide hit, his trusty companion as he chases the Pink Panther diamond through the streets of Paris is none other than a smart fortwo coupe.
Casting the smart fortwo in the lead automotive role is an inspired move and no doubt the car’s compact size and nimble agility helped it see of the competition at the auditions. Smart’s environmental credentials also ensured it was the perfect choice for the intrepid detective’s company police car.
Many scenes in the movie play on smart’s strengths and versatilities on congested urban roads. In one exciting sequence Clouseau dodges the traffic in a crazy car chase around Paris before struggling to find a parking space in the city’s crowded airport car park.
