Contract Hire News – Mercedes-Benz hosts first Formula Once race screening
Mercedes contract hire customers may have been amongst the Formula One fans that flocked to Mercedes-Benz World in Surrey last weekend for the first of seven special Grand Prix Weekends that coincide with the Formula One Championship races.
Catalunya was the venue for the Spanish Grand Prix, the 5th race of the season. For motor sports fans that weren’t lucky to have grandstand seats in Barcelona, the next best thing was a ringside seat in front of a big screen at the Brand Experience Centre at Mercedes-Benz World.
Mercedes-Benz World in Weybridge will be showing live coverage of all the European Formula One Grand Prix races, including the Saturday qualifying sessions and pre-race build up.
With three of this year’s cars powered by Mercedes-Benz high performance engine, including the Brawn GP car driven by Jensen Button and Lewis Hamilton’s McLaren Mercedes, Mercedes-Benz is already dominating the constructor’s leader board.
Mercedes-Benz World are going to great lengths to replicate the excitement of the racetrack during their Grand Prix Weekends and Mercedes contract hire customers can enjoy all the live action for free on one of the centre’s big screens.
Speaking about the Grand Prix Weekends, Managing director of Mercedes-Benz World, Peter O’Halloran said: ‘This season’s new regulations have created some thrilling racing action on-track and there are now three teams powered by Mercedes-Benz high performance engines.
‘Whether you’re a Jenson Button supporter or love Lewis Hamilton, we’ll be replicating the excitement of the racetrack at Mercedes-Benz World for all to enjoy.’
The next Grand Prix Weekend at Mercedes-Benz World will be on 24th and 24th May for the Monaco Grand Prix. Last year Lewis Hamilton raised the winner’s trophy, having completed the 76-lap race in just over 2 hours from grid position three, despite hitting the wall on the swimming pool exit on the 6th lap.
Jenson Button who has so far dominated this year’s Formula One Grand Prix Championship with four wins from five races, finished over a lap off the pace back in 11th position in 2008 when he was driving for Honda.
With the Mercedes-Benz powered Brawn GP looking unbeatable and Lewis Hamilton desperate to improve on his best performance so far this year when he finished 4th in Bahrain, Monaco looks set to deliver some thrilling action.
Mercedes contract hire customers should head to Mercedes-Benz World early on Sunday morning to ensure they get a good seat for the start of the race at 2pm.
