Car Leasing News – Mercedes-Benz cuts carbon footprint
Car leasing customers are becoming increasing aware of the impact of carbon dioxide on the environment and the need for all of us to do what we can to protect the earth’s atmosphere.
In the last few years we have seen a steady rise in the number of car leasing customers switching from larger and more polluting engineed cars and opting for models what have lower CO2 gas emissions.
Sales of Mercedes-Benz BlueEfficiency models and smart’s micro-hybrid fortwo models have grown at record levels.
Mercedes-Benz is showing its commitment to sustainable mobility in many ways, including pioneering alternative fuel technology, using recycled and recyclable materials in car manufacture and also in its operational strategy.
The latest example of this is a new agreement between the German car manufacturer and ferry and freight company Norfolkline.
For many years Mercedes-Benz has shipped new cars from Europe to the UK via Killingholme in Lincolnshire. The new arrangement with Norfolkline, whose head office is based near The Hague in The Netherlands, will mean reductions in cost and carbon footprint.
The new route between Zeebrugge and Rosyth, near Edinborough in Scotland will cut 245,445 miles from Mercedes-Benz transporter’s annual UK delivery mileage. This equates to a fuel saving of over 170,000 litres and a cut in CO2 gas emissions of over 450,000 kgs.
For car leasing customers looking to reduce their own carbon footprints this is another good reason to chose a Mercedes-Benz.
The Mercedes-Benz model line-up is more fuel efficient and environmentally conscious than ever. New lean burn engines feature across the range and BlueEfficiency models are widely available.
All Mercedes-Benz A-Class derivatives have carbon dioxide emissions under 160g/km, as do Mercedes-Benz B-Class models (with the exception of B170 SE and Sport models and B105 Sport).
Car leasing customers interested in the Mercedes-Benz CLC will find that the CLC 200 CDi SE, CLC 220 CDi SE, CLC 200 CDi SE Panarama and CLC 220 CDi SE Panarama have sub 160 g/km CO2 emissions.
Within the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Saloon range you can lease the following cars with CO2 gas emissions below 160 g/km:
- C180 KOMPRESSOR BlueEfficiency SE
- C200 CDi SE
- C220 CDi SE
