Car Leasing News – Mercedes-Benz CLK is best in class
The UK’s most comprehensive survey of owners’ satisfaction with their cars just been published. Car leasing customers will no doubt be familiar with the revered JD Power Survey, which this year included 29 brands, 101 models and over 15,000 owners.
Mercedes-Benz has increased its ranking this year and finished second runner-up in the list of motor manufacturers with a score of 808 points from a possible 1000. Only 25 points separated 1st and 3rd place however, demonstrating that Mercedes’ aim to top the Customer Satisfaction Index by 2010 is within sight. Lexus topped the pole this year with 833 points whilst Honda finished first runner-up with a total of 817 points.
The JD Power Survey covers all aspects of car ownership, from car appeal – covering design, comfort and performance, car quality and reliability, to cost of ownership – including fuel economy, to insurance, maintenance and satisfaction with dealership.
In the Sports Car category Mercedes-Benz CLK was best in class scoring 82.2%. Car leasing customers in the market for a sports coupe will be interested to know that CLK was the only sports car to score a maximum five stars. Owners were particularly impressed with the CLK’s exterior design and the service received dealerships.
Mercedes-Benz re-branded its service centres as Mercedes-Benz Official Workshops earlier this year and introduced a range of new measures to ensure that the experience customers receive at Official Workshops is consistently high throughout the UK.
The effect of these initiatives seems to be born out in the customer satisfaction figures, with Mercedes-Benz up four places this year to finish 5th in the Vehicle Quality and Reliability segment and a leap of 15 places to finish 5th for fixing problems correctly first time.
Car leasing customers who use a Mercedes-Benz Official Workshop for their routine service and maintenance on their contract hire cars will also appreciate these high standards.
The Mercedes-Benz E-Class was another successful model in the JD Power Survey, placed second in the Executive/Luxury car category. Whilst this model has just been replaced it will appear in the survey, which looks at cars that are 2-3 year old, for the next few years. Car leasing customers will have to wait until 2011 to see what owners think of the all-new Mercedes-Benz E-Class model that was launched at the beginning of June.
If you can't wait that long of course then call City Vehicle Leasing on 0844 375 3263 for a car leasing quotation on the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class model of your choice.
