The Mercedes-Benz R-Class is a new concept from a design team who have become renowned for creating very special vehicles. This is a grand sports tourer in its truest sense, and a luxurious one at that. It has the load area and flexibility of a large estate, the passenger carrying capacity of an MPV and the refinement and appointment of a superior executive limousine. Add to that the ride height and exterior visibility of a four-wheel drive and you start to get a sense of what this car is all about.

This is a car for people who appreciate space. Available in two wheelbase lengths the Mercedes R-Class can seat up to seven passengers yet still gives everyone acres of room to stretch their legs and stow their luggage. All the seating arrangements can be adapted to suit your requirements on any outing.

The Mercedes R-Class is available in a range of powerful petrol and diesel engines mated to a 7G-Tronic seven-speed automatic transmission that is standard on all models. Permanent four-wheel drive (excluding R280 CDI) ensures effortless driving whatever the road conditions.

Mercedes R-Class – Versatility and style personified
The latest version of the Mercedes R-Class is more versatile than ever before. Five and seven-seat versions are available for the first time and also a two-wheel drive variant. A long wheelbase option provides even more space for passengers and luggage and opens up boundless possibilities for practical load carrying. Seating is easy to reconfigure to create a level load area of up to 1,950 litres.

The Mercedes-Benz R-Class offers a choice of equipment and styling. The SE and Sport lines have AMG bodystyling as standard and their own distinguishing and luxurious characteristics.

Mercedes R-Class SE
SE accentuates the rich refinement of the R-Class. Interior fixtures and fittings are superior in quality and materials. Aspen cloth and Artico man-made leather upholster the seats (on the R500 L it’s Burr Walnut wood trim and full leather). 18” 5-twin-spoke alloys compliment the AMG bodystyling.

Mercedes R-Class Sport
Sport emphasises the striking AMG bodystyling with 19” 5-spoke alloy wheels. Metallic paint and blue-tinted glass give the Mercedes R-Class Sport a dynamic look. Inside the stainless steel pedals complement the aluminum trim to the dashboard and doors and high-gloss centre consol. Soft-touch Alcantara and top-stitched Artico man-made leather throughout complete the sports feel.

Standard equipment in both the SE and Sport lines includes: executive front seats (power adjustable), automatic climate control, Direct Select steering-column gear selector lever and steering wheel gearshift buttons.

Safety features in both SE and Sport lines include: Electronic Stability Programme and Electronic Traction System with ESP® trailer stabilisation, Pre-Safe anticipatory occupant protection, Headlamp assist, ISOFIX child seat attachments and automatic child seat recognition sensor, Neck-Pro active head rests.

Mercedes R-Class – Practical and powerful
The new Mercedes R-Class offers a remarkable range of configurations including diesel and petrol engines, rear-wheel or four-wheel drive and air suspension. The Mercedes R 280 CDI is powered by a 190hp V6 diesel and comes with two-wheel drive and five seats. The 224hp Mercedes R 320 CDI can now also be specified with five seats as well as seven. There is a seven-seat long wheelbase version of the more powerful model available too.

Completing the line-up is another long wheelbase, seven-seater in the shape of the four-wheel drive, V8-powered Mercedes R 500, which features a new 5.5-litre engine.
